Where are you located?

I have a studio space in Kitchener, Ontario, Canada where Newborn and Baby sessions take place. Family and Maternity sessions can also take place In Studio or on Location at a park, natural area, or other special spot depending on the time of year!

How long does a Session take?

Session length varies from 30 minutes for a Petite Family Session or Baby Session, to up to 2.5-3 hours for a Full Newborn session with parents and sibling photos.

How do I book a Session?

Email is the best first correspondence. You should let us know what type of Session you are interested in, your ideal time line (or your due date for Newborn Sessions!) and we’ll go from there. Your session will officially be booked once your Creative Fee is paid (typically by E-transfer). Your Creative Fee acts as your Deposit so nothing else is due until after you have seen your images!

What’s a Creative Fee?

Essentially, the Creative Fee is your Deposit for your Session. The amount depends on whether you choose a Full or Petite Session. It is then applied as a Credit toward Prints, products or Digital Images, after you have seen your gallery!

What should I expect from my Photography experience?

To be taken care of and guided through the entire process. We want to help you feel confident and excited going into your session, and thrilled afterwards! From our Pre-Consultation to the Session itself, to the Image Reveal Appointment through Delivery of your beautiful new art work, we are dedicated to providing you will a Full Service experience that leaves you with nothing left to do but enjoy your images every day!

What kind of products do you offer?

Our current product line includes a wide variety of Wall Art (mounted prints, gallery wrapped canvases and wood photo blocks, in dozens of sizes and configurations). We also offer gorgeous linen cover Albums, a variety of Birth Announcement designs, Holiday & Thank You cards, and Mini Accordion albums (the perfect gift!). Please get in touch with us if you have specific questions about our product line or would like to learn more!

Do I get the digital images?

If you want them! The high resolution digital images are available for purchase separately, just like your art work. Too often digital images remain on a USB or hard drive, never being enjoyed as they’re meant to be! Professionally printed products are far more valuable and cherished than pixels on a screen that can easily be corrupted or lost on their digital mediums that are so quickly changing. So providing you with beautiful tangible products is our way of making sure that never happens! It is very important to us to make your photography experience fulfilling from start to finish and not do you the disservice of leaving you on your own to print. If you do decide to purchase the digitals and print on your own, please follow our recommendations to get the best possible outcome.

Do you offer payment plans?

Professional photography is an investment that we would love for everyone to be able to enjoy. Payment plans are available to everyone with zero interest. Take up to a year after your Image Reveal Appointment to pay for your order. Your products and images will be ordered and delivered once your balance is paid in full.

What if it rains/snows or someone is sick?

Canadian weather is so unpredictable, and kids get sick all the time, we totally understand. We’ll take each scenario as it comes, but typically, we’ll decide to reschedule a few hours before our outdoor Session is set to begin if the forecast is looking grim.  If a child is sick and isn’t acting like his or herself, it’s in everyone’s best interest to reschedule until he/she is feeling better. For Newborn Sessions, we will always reschedule if I am feeling under the weather since Newborns immune systems are so sensitive and they are very susceptible to catching illnesses at such a young age.

What should we wear!?

Wardrobe is so much a matter of personal taste, there are no hard and fast rules! We tend to recommend neutrals since they are timeless and do not compete with anything in the background. If you’d like a pop of colour, we’d suggest no more than 2 colours or things can get too busy. Subtle patterns are fine, but try to avoid very bold patterns or dressing some family members in black and some in white as the contrast is often distracting and hard to expose for correctly. If we don’t end up meeting in person before the Session and you are having trouble with wardrobe, please feel free to email us photos of a few options and we are more than happy to offer an opinion!

When does the Newborn Session take place?

Newborns are best photographed between 6 and 12 days of age when they are still very sleepy and curl up easily into those adorable poses! We will book your due date as your tentative session date and then once baby arrives, you’ll add us to your list of people to contact asap so we can nail down the exact date and time.

When should I book my Newborn Session?

Most mamas book somewhere in their 2nd trimester. Because the Newborn Session is so time sensitive, it’s best to book early to ensure their is an opening available in that short ideal time frame! You may get lucky and grab a spot if you inquire last minute, but depending on the time of year, we often book up months in advance.

How do I prepare for my Newborn Session?

We have a PDF “Newborn Prep Guide” which is delivered to parents once baby is born, and our exact session date is determined. This document outlines everything you need to do and pack before your session, to ensure success! (ie. A sleepy babe!)

If you have specific questions that are not addressed here, please don’t hesitate to get in touch!
